Recipes using Thanga Samba Rice

Thanga samba egg rice


  • Egg- 3 nos
  • Rice- 1 cup(200g)
  • Onion-1 no
  • Tomato- 1 no
  • Vegetables (Optional)
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tablespoon
  • Chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala-1 tsp
  • Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
  • Spring onions-1 bunch
  • Salt-1/2 tsp
  • Ghee-1 tsp
  • Oil-5 tablespoon
  • Aniseed-1 tsp


  1. In oil fry spring onion and add egg.
  2. Add pepper and salt.
  3. Rinse and soak the rice for one hour.
  4. Cook the rice in pot / cooker
  5. Within 15 minutes, the rice gets cooked.
  6. In kadai, heat the oil/ghee and add aniseed.
  7. Add onion, veggies and ginger garlic paste
  8. Add tomato, salt and fry it well.
  9. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder.
  10. Add coriander powder and garam masala.
  11. Fry it well for 10 minutes
  12. Now add the previously prepared scrambled egg
  13. Add cooked thanga samba rice
  14. Add salt, spring oil and ghee
  15. Hot Thanga samba egg rice is ready!
